Driving Directions to Spruce Knob

Directions from the East

    Take Exit 247 on Interstate 81 in Harrisonburg, Virginia.  Take US 33 North for 56 miles.  US 33 is a paved road in good condition, but it is winds its way up and over the mountains near the VA/WV border.   About 23 miles in, you will reach the WV/VA border.  The road descends into West Virginia.  About 1.0 miles past the town of Judy Gap and the junction of State Route 28, make a left turn onto CR 3314.  There is a sign for Spruce Knob.  If you travel into the town of Riverton, you've gone too far.

    Follow CR 3314 for 2.4 miles to a Y intersection.  At this Y intersection, go to the right.  This is Public Road 112.  Follow Public Road 112 7.2 miles to the junction with Public Road 104.  Make a right on Public Road 104.  Take Public Road 104 1.75 miles to the Spruce Knob parking lot. 

Directions from Backbone Mountain

    Take US 219 South from the cutoff for Backbone Mountain for about 8 miles to the junction of State Route 32 in Thomas, West Virginia.  Take 32 South 21.6 miles to Harman, West Virginia.  In Harman, you will make a left turn onto US 33 South.  Follow US 33 South for 21.9 miles to the junction with CR 3314.   There is a sign for Spruce Knob.  If you travel into the Judy Gap, you've gone too far.

    Follow CR 3314 for 2.4 miles to a Y intersection.  At this Y intersection, go to the right.  This is Public Road 112.  Follow Public Road 112 7.2 miles to the junction with Public Road 104.  Make a right on Public Road 104.  Take Public Road 104 1.75 miles to the Spruce Knob parking lot.
